We’re also very excited to launch our unique blend of Organic Coconut and Avocado Oil. This brilliant cooking oil contains all the goodness of vitamin E from the avocado oil and lauric acid from the extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil. With it’s oil high smoke point it is excellent for frying, curries, marinading or using as “butter” and we’ve been told it makes a delightful pure, natural vitamin E loaded body oil too!
RECIPE CORNER – FLAKED BLANCHED ALMOND SLICES
-300g Flaked Blanched Almond Slices
-Pinch of Sea Salt (optional)
Method
– Blitz almonds in a high powered food processor for 30 seconds,
-Add the coconut oil if dry and blitz for a further 1 – 3 minutes
– Depending on blender power (stopping and scraping the sides of the bowl every 20 seconds)
-Or until you have a smooth, creamy paste.
Almond Milk
Makes 2 Litres
Ingredients
-1/4 Cup of Almond Spread (recipe above)
-2 Ltr Water
-1 Tbsp Date Paste or Other Sweetener/ Spice (Optional)
Method
– Blitz all ingredients together for at least 1 minute until very smooth
– Strain through a fine sieve or nut milk bag if desired for smoothest milk
– Pour into container and store in fridge for 2-3 days (or freeze)
– Shake the container before using as some settling will occur
