If the health benefits of Maqui Powder (it’s rich in essential nutrients, antioxidants and has anti inflammatory properties) don’t win you over, we hope this smoothie recipe with it’s vibrant purple colour will!
The banana and nut butter create a lovely creamy texture which means there’s no need for any dairy or non dairy milk with this recipe. The frozen bananas add a nice icy texture and thickness to the smoothie. However if you don’t have any frozen bananas when you come to make the recipe you could just add in half a cup of ice cubes to the mix. The Maqui Berry Powder adds a little sweetness and slight tartness. A colourful way to start your day!
With just four ingredients we love that this is super simple to make. It’s also made from non perishable foods so you can make it at home whenever you feel the need (just peel, slice and freeze the bananas when you buy them).
To turn into a Macqui smoothie bowl simply add less water.

Serves : 2
- 2 tbsp Nut Butter (we used roasted cashew butter)
- 1 cup Water
- 3 Frozen Bananas (peeled, sliced & frozen)
- 1 tbsp Maqui Berry Powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon, optional
Put all the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.
Sprinkle with some chia seeds or a dash of cinnamon
