Blanched almond paste is wonderful for creating gluten-free, nutritious bars, cakes, muffins, pancakes very quickly and easily. It is produced by grinding blanched almonds until a loose paste/dry dough is formed.
Almond paste is low in carbs and is suitable for many types of gluten/grain free diets.
Please note that this is a 100% natural product and can, therefore, vary in colour, texture and consistency (please see images above for a visual of this variation). We do not add any oils or emulsifiers to our pastes, they are a 100% ground nut product. This means in colder temperatures and/or when almonds with a lower fat content are used, the paste can be quite solid and less malleable as it directly reflects the natural makeup of the product. When batches are made using almonds with a lower fat content, the paste can be closer to a flour-like texture as opposed to a paste.
If you are looking for a spreadable, more runnier textured almond product, please opt for our roasted almond butters. With nut butters (unlike our pastes) the nuts are roasted in advance which allows the nut oils to naturally release which therefore makes the product runnier.
