Our delicious new Dark Coconut Sugar Chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts are a wonderful treat. Our buttery Macadamias are encased in our unique dark chocolate that is just Dominican Republic 67% dark cocoa simply sweetened with coconut sugar and absolutely nothing else. As well as being cane sugar free they are also vegan and are gluten free.
Macadamias are a rich source of monounsaturated fats and they contain all of the essential amino acids as well as some non-essential amino acids. They are also a good source of fibre and contain important antioxidants including vitamin E and selenium, as well as other phytonutrients.
Coconut sugar is considered to have a much lower GI rating than cane sugar and also contains many nutrients. Coconut sugar, although a fraction less sweet than our cane sugar chocolates, also imparts a very subtle hint of caramel. It is the perfect chocolate indulgence for primal style diets.
As we keep our chocolate as pure as possible our chocolate covered treats are not finished to shining perfection as other chocolate snacks may be that have added nasties such as shellac and other polishing agents. We also don’t add anything to stop our chocolate melting such as lecithins as again we want to keep our chocolate as natural as possible. Using our purest chocolate means our snacks have a raw finish and a few may clump. We advise storing in a cool, dark place.
