This is a wonderful creamy, smooth cocoa mass produced from Single Origin Ecuadorian Arriba cocoa beans. We have this product supplied in small coin sized drops for easy weighing and melting. A fantastic 100% cocoa liquor at a great price.
Produced from Nacional cocoa beans grown in the province of Guayas this cocoa has all the wonderful characteristics of the traditional Ecuadorian Arriba cocoa. The cocoa has a very floral profile, with a characteristic bitterness, accompanied by low acidity, a pleasant note of astringency, and a floral bouquet. The flavour of this cocoa persists for a long time in the mouth.
Although this is used as an ingredient in making chocolate, please note that this is cocoa mass, this product is not to be mistaken with chocolate.
Note that this cocoa mass is made from roasted cocoa beans. Cocoa and cacao mean the same thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocoa_bean. A cocoa bean is a cacao bean whether roasted or not. Raw food marketers unfortunately promote the idea that cocoa is roasted and processed while cacao is raw when there is actually no difference.
