Our Organic Amaranth Seeds are a nutritious and delicious ingredients to have in your pantry. They have a light, mild nutty flavour and are high in fibre (11g per 100g) as well as being a good source of protein (14g of protein per 100g) and magnesium. Amaranth seeds are classified as a ‘pseudocereal’, a plant grown to produce starchy grains for over 8000 years now. Other examples of ‘pseudocereals’ are quinoa and buckwheat.

Suggested uses:

Use amaranth seeds in place of other grains. Serve it along side stews and curries as the starch or use it as a base for salads. Amaranth seeds can be cooked the same the way you would cook grains like rice and quinoa. Boil 1/2 cup of amaranth seeds with roughly 1.5 cups of water until all the water has been absorbed (roughly 20 minutes)
