Our Organic Hemp Flour from organic hemp grown in the EU is produced by milling and sifting the hemp seed cake, which is produced after crushing the hemp seeds for the oil. It has a nutty flavour with a subtle earthy flavour (a lot more subtle than our hemp protein powder).
Hemp Flour is high in protein (20%) and fibre (47%) and imparts a subtle nutty flavour of hemp into your baking and can be used for cakes, pies, muffins or breads. With its high protein content, substitute only a small amount of your usual flour in the recipe (if a recipe calls for 1/3 cup of regular flour substitute it for roughly 1/4 cup of hemp flour). It’s a good source of omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin D and E as well as being low in salt and sugar.
It can be used as a flour substitute for baking by adding to cakes, pies, muffins or breads. We also like to make energy bars using the hemp flour in conjunction with our cocoa products and dried fruit and nuts. Great for boosting the fibre and protein content of a homemade fruit smoothie.
