Our best selling coconut oil is light and silky with a natural aroma and taste of the finest fresh coconuts. It’s quite simply a fantastic cold pressed virgin oil that is wonderful for cooking and baking as well as for your hair and skin.
The oil is produced from the finest freshly picked mature coconuts. These coconut trees are not treated with chemicals and are certified “organic” to EU standards by the Organic Food Federation. The nuts are harvested by hand and brought to an oil mill. There, the fresh coconut meat is grated and then dried at control led temperatures. Afterwards the white meat is made to pass through a cold process expeller at controlled temperatures. The oil is then filtered which results in a crystal clear coconut oil that retains the distinct scent and taste of coconuts. Our cold pressed oil has more coconut flavour and a thicker consistency than our wet milled coconut oils.
Unlike many coconut oils this is not bleached, deodorised, hydrogenated or heat treated. It is also non GM. Virgin Coconut Oil will solidify under 26 degrees Celsius and is therefore a solid most of the year. Packed in HDPE tubs it is ideal for the bath or shower or kitchen cupboard. Please note we also sell this oil is glass jars, if preferred.
Please note the country of origin can vary for our cold pressed organic virgin coconut oil, please ask if you would like to know the origin of our current batch.
A final note on the difference between virgin and extra virgin coconut oils: there is none! Unlike olive oil there is no difference there are simply virgin coconut oils of varying quality. Due to the high number of queries we now label our coconut oils as extra virgin to avoid customers confusing virgin and extra virgin with a difference in quality.
This oil is excellent for cooking, baking, smoothies, “bulletproof” coffee, homemade chocolate making and breakfast bars. See our recipe section for lots of ideas or grab our free Coconut Oil recipe ebook.
