Our gourmet mushroom popcorn kernels from Italy produce delicious, fluffy yellow popcorn. Mushroom popcorn is more round and compact than butterfly popcorn which gives a larger surface area to coat with your favourite toppings! Popcorn is high in fibre and low in fat making it an excellent, quick nutritious snack.
Once popped, you can eat as it is or why not add some flavourings for a real gourmet experience. Our favourites include – cinnamon, coconut sugar or in a mix with our freeze dried fruits. Popcorn is also excellent for making energy balls – mix popcorn, chopped nuts, dates and coconut syrup for a delicious snack!
To cook on stove top:
Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a pan (oils with a high smoke point work better – coconut oil is ideal). Add 1/3 cup of popcorn to the pan, place lid over pan and heat over a medium heat – popcorn should begin to pop immediately. Shake pan regularly and once popping is 5 seconds apart, remove from heat and serve in a large bowl- makes enough popcorn for 2 people.
