Our 99% Purity Whole Organic Psyllium Husks, also known as isabgol or just psyllium are the husks from the seeds of the Plantago Ovata plant. Psyllium husk is an excellent source of soluble fibre – a massive 77g per 100g!
Psyllium husk is soluble in water making it gel like when wet and and therefore an excellent binding agent for baking. It absorbs liquid very easily and can swell to up to ten times its dry size – this also makes it a great thickening agent in dishes such as soups or stews.
